Ministry of the Interior:
The Bethlehem light of peace
English
For the tenth year in a row, on December 16, 2019, the light of peace has been given at the premises of the Ministry of the Interior. This is a charity campaign that has been taking place in Slovenia since independence. The light of peace from Bethlehem and its flame bring joy and, more importantly, always convey a noble message. This year's message is »Don't be afraid to shine!«
Police vicar Igor Jereb emphasized the importance of this action and the importance of their mutual relations: »It is important that we be honest with ourselves and in relation to others,« he said. Director-General of Police Tatjana Bobnar highlighted the noble work of Slovenian Scouts, who each year conveys a message of joy, joy, and hope. »Dear scouts, you have brought light. Light means something new, a new life, a new hope,« she said.
»Few people know that in 2015 and 2016 you also helped in the migrant crisis by setting up accommodation tents and by your knowledge and humanitarian nature, that Slovenia was even more secure,« Minister Boštjan Poklukar thanked the Slovenian scouts. He added that Christmas and New Year holidays are an opportunity for us to devote ourselves and our loved ones. »Holidays are all too consumerist and we have too little time for ourselves. Wondering what else we want? Do we want to be better? These are the questions we ask ourselves when we are calm when we are at home, in the circle of our loved ones,« said the Minister, thanking the scouts for their noble work and expressing their honor that we can take the light of peace and spread its message.
